You mentioned a David "Glitzeestien" (You were uncertain of the spelling) c1890 changed his name to Lewis.
Possibly married Margaret Roper c1910

Isobella link is not a match sadly.
I'm assured Leslie David Lewis b 1916 did marry Phyllis C Davey b 1918 and they married in 1938 having 2 children. I have confirmed Phyllis's parentage.
She left Leslie and moved to Eltham London during war and later had children by new partnership. Leslie later remarried 2nd wife Joan and had 2 boys with her, Trevor and Paul. I have found Joan E Feaver b 1927 and a marriage to a Leslie D Lewis in 1952 in Maidstone which could fit..

Now the Father and mother of Leslie David Lewis appears to be David Glitzeestien born c 1880, who he believed changed his name to Lewis ( he owned a farm, and was an antique dealer in later life.) He married a Margaret Roper born c 1885 they had a daughter Violet - Barry's aunt and Barry's father Leslie.

lewis /roper birth of Violet could fit. The L in David L may just be middle name of David Glitzeestien ? Im intrigued by that surname. Sounds eastern european / jewish ? Cannot find entry anywhere.

I have been looking around but not found anything of interest.

I will keep looking and get back to you if anything of interest pops up.

I'm not seeing a Violet Lewis/Roper birth.

Barry definitely needs the Lewis/Davey marriage cert.

Herbert Sidney lewis April 1877 Maidstone Kent (parents William G/henry Lewis and Annie/Amy).1911 he is William Henry Lewis of 62,Grecian Street same address in 1901.

Herbert married Margaret Ann Roper in Newcastle Upon Tyne she was born Northumberland 1882 died June 1951.
They had @ 9 children including Lilian Violet lewis 1903.
1911 she is down as Violet.

Lilian Violet Lewis married Thomas W Sparks 1931
Lilian Violet Sparks married Hans Hienrichs 1948 Maidstone 5b 1268.

Herbert Sidney lewis of 17,Water lane Maidstone died 8/2/1951 probate to Lilian Violet Heinrichs married woman £193 2s

Lilian Violet Heinrichs 21/10/1903 died 1980 in Maidstone.

The only thing is.........they don't appear to have had a son Leslie David Lewis.

I can only guess that the David L Lewis born 1916..........married Phyllis C Davey and his names were back to front!

That sounds a big possibility - Barry my friend spent his early life in and around Water Lane as did my paternal grandmother and my Dad by coincidence who lived in Paradise row, padsole lane. Maidstone.

Barry remembers Hans Heinrich clearly and yesterday recited a german poem or phrase taught to him by Hans,as a child, although he did not know the interpretation in English. Barry was born in 1939 and met Hans after the war as a boy.

Just spoken with Barry and he confirms much of info you ladies have kindly researched as correct. I am ordering a wedding cert for Leslie David Lewis and Phyllis C Davey to ascertain fathers names. Herbert sounds a big possibility.

However we are no wiser to this David Glitzeestien unless he is great grandfather or other relative. Margaret Roper is barry's grandmother for sure.
I have found a Joan E Lewis B 1927 nee Feaver and Barry confirms this was his dads 2nd wife after Phyllis Lewis nee Davey left. He has 2 step brothers Trevor and Paul the eldest about 9 years his junior born approx 1948.
