Given the POBs and occupation, all these Deligan families must surely be related! |

I wondered if anyone could help me with Ireland census for 1841 and 1851 for Andrew Dalligan born 1827c Tipperary who married Eliza Magner born 1832 Cork. They married Newington, London 1858. On marriage certificate it has John Dalligan as father of Andrew. Thank you |

There are no censuses for Ireland at that time ( a few fragments but the rest were destroyed) so church records need to be looked at, |

Thanks Rambling Rose. My Andrew Dalligan great great grandfather was born 1827c Tipperary on 1881 census and was living Southwark with son Lawrence Dalligan 1863. Andrew's father on his marriage certificate was John Dalligan, born 1818c. I cant see which of them were in prison by their birthdates but maybe its relatives of my direct ancestors. Thanks for all your help |

Remember Sandra that back then birthdates were probably less known about as it is before registration, so being 'out' by a few years is not unusual at all. Particularly given the circumstances in Ireland at the time. |
