Looking for the birth of John Joseph McMahon born 1914 ish county Clare, Ireland.
I have Marriage and Death record of the above in Birkenhead, Uk.
Marriage to Nellie Beasley Jun 1940, birkenhead and death 1993 Birkenhead, he was born in 1914 somewhere in Co Clare, Ireland. Without the very useful census and BMD records, I don't know where to look.
Any help very much appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies, I know the marriage and death info, but have no marriage cert. I know he was born in County Clare in 1914 and was 1 of 5 children one of which was Beatrice McMahon.
I have never searched Irish records before and need some help while I wait for the marriage cert to arrive.

Nicola...It may be worthwhile considering the following..".Beatrice" was not a common Christian name and this is the only McMahon/MacMahon with a Beatrice...Given the age of Annie I was wondering if she could have had JonJo (1914) but a look at 1901Census shows her age to be 30yrs.There was also a child John (1901) who appears to have died by 1911.

Thanks all for your help. now looking for the marriage of John Mcmahon and Mary Foley or Folley, possibly County Clare? before 1914. They had 5 children and settled in Birkenhead about 1928?
Any help with finding birth and marriage records in Ireland would be great, I can't seem to find anything.
