I am trying to find the Death & Will of Eleanor De Casabianca, she was originally Eleanor Richardson daughter of James Richardson & Harriet Suter she was born the 14th Dec 1839 in Kempton Brighton, she went onto marry William Howard the Earl of Wicklow in 1863 and after his death she was involved in a notorious court case called the Wicklow Peerage Case, after this she married Louis Victor De Casabianca, they had a son Louis Xavier De Casabianca in b1874 - d1959 Thrapston Northants, I am unable to find any trace of Eleanor or her husband after 1874, having searched all english records that i can, it maybe they lived in France, but i would like to find a will for her or her husband she also may have had another son by her first marriage to William Howard, my connection maybe through that child William George Howard b 15.5.1864, and his connection to the Clegg family from London, if anyone has access to french wills or deaths or may have come across this family I would be very grateful for any info, thankyou |

I am going by one of those famous family rumours that we were related to the Howards - the Earls of Wicklow, we think the child in the peerage case MAY have been my gt grandfather - Ralph Clegg this is going by research done by my grandmother in the 1970's , i have her research papers from them and now with the beauty of the internet have been to expand on it, my grandmother was so conivnced by the family stories she was told she employed a researcher to help in the days before computers. |

It is just an inkling that Eleanor died in France, but we haven't a clue where its seems her and her husband disappeared from England they were fairly wealthy so I think there would have been a will somewhere , but without knowing when Eleanor died can't send to the probate office in this country to find it. have searched on the wills available on ancestry etc and have been unable to find one for her or her husband, and looked at old newspapers, the Wicklow Peerage case is very well covered by the newspapers of the time the was even an old book written about the case, but doesn't mention the Clegg family anywhere in it. |

Neither Eleanor nor Louis appear on this French site - though I'm not sure how exhaustive its coverage is: |
