Also, it would appear her husband Harvey remarried in 1952 to Joan M Cox, and they were together in 1959 at 115 Uxbridge Rd, Twickenham. So, were they divorced by this time?

However, the long awaited birth certificate may prove more leads to check out......
This is only speculation at the moment.

Have a received an email from GRO "There is no trace of the above mentioned person at the reference you quoted." So all this waiting..... Anyway I have just reapplied in case there was a type error, so frustrating!

Thanks for the ER updates I will look up those addresses and see what I can find out, sounds promising.

Hi Kerry,

I've just looked at the image for the birth ref, to make sure I gave you the right info. It was definelty OND/1952, ref 5c 1539 - the image is clear. Go back to them and ask them to check again. Reg district was Lambeth.

Ah thank you for that Flip. Yes I will. Do you know if there would be any reason none of my searches bring anything up when I try and search the ER on this site? I have paid the platinum membership if that makes a difference to anything, every search I have done for various names always comes up with no results found.
And is there a register for divorces? I have never found anything for this either and yet clearly the potential sister is divorced as married twice?
Sorry for all the questions, I feel a bit cheeky (but grateful!) that you are all so kindly finding information for me and I am unable to find these things myself originally!!! :-D

Kerry, When using the GRO reference don't give the GRO any other details that don't appear on the index entry,

If you add a name or mis-spell any details they will reject your aplication as not found,

Hi Kerry,

Not sure what records are available on GR, I used ancestry for the London ERs - have just checked and I don't think GR has these records only census and recent ERs (from 2002)

Only some old divorce records are available on line (national archives & ancestry have some), but nothing later than the early 1930s.

Kerry,

As someone new to genealogy you may find the hints and tips provided by following the links on this thread useful:

http://www.genesreunited.co.za/boards/board/genealogy_chat/thread/1318489

As a general rule of thumb when searching for information less input is sometimes better than more. On your initial search just enter basic information into the search engine input form. This may produce lots of results/leads but if you cannot immediately identify who or what you are searching for from those results search again. This time adding a bit more known information into the search form. Hopefully this will narrow down the results resulting in you finding what you are searching for. Be flexible when entering such things as birth year or spelling of names. Consider entering wild cards in case something has been either inaccurately recorded or wrongly transcribed.

Good luck.
