so it would seem that is how James got to know Robert and Elizabeth Fuller! as Robert Fuller and Richard Wraight were cousins!....well that would of been a scandal so maybe that is why the lady in Australia her father won't talk about it!!! I have messaged my ex husband's son and his brother, the brother who is the eldest may of known his grandmother as he would of been 14yrs when she died hopefully they will get back to me, there may be a marriage cert of Ernest in someones keeping? so much is falling into place. with James being born in Wye, that's must of been what my father-in-law was talking about1 |

It does look promising, especially as you've now found potential marriage/deaths for them. have you looked for a death for Robert Fuller? |

Thank you again, I haven't found a death for Robert, but then only able to look on the freebmd. My grandfather's wife went off with a man and left their 2 sons with his mother (granddad went off to Australia for a year) and she didn't marry this new man for another 30yrs in the 1950's.after several children!.... My grandparents never married which came out when he died in 1961, my aunt told they couldn't marry as he was still married!.....so either it was a bigamous marriage, but then why wait 30yrs! or there was a divorce and my grandfather never told anyone, including my grandmother!! |

spent the afternoon browsing through the public member trees on ancestry! by adding names etc I can see parents even though I can't access the trees!......found the connection of the 1861 census with the Chittendens.....The Elizabeth is the aunt of Esther, through her dad it appears there may not of been a marriage of Esther's parents as she is down in a few trees as Esther Martin Sandwell/Hills/butler/Baker!! |

I've been looking at the granddaughter Louisa Fuller from the 1901 census - born Louisa Kate Fuller in 1892. She was a nursemaid in Lambeth in 1911, then married Herbert William Epps in 1912 (Thanet). |

Dawn, you can view public member trees on the ancestry spin off site, it's free you just have to register, but at least you'll be able to see all the tree details. |

wow thanks! yes it would seem to be him, my ggrandfather lived with his daughter just before his death, his 2nd wife my ggrandmother said she was a widow in 1911 living as a housekeeper! but he died in 1912 .......there was a 40yr difference! she was 22 when my grandfather was born and he a widower of 62!....other children were born before they married she also had a son of her own and I suspect her last child wasn't his either, maybe where she was housekeeper?? I am going to try the website now |

Thank you once again!, Yes Maria's parents were James and Elizabeth so I now have her family. She died in 1843 so it looks like Walter was with her sister Emily. Plus the owner of the Inn Henry Hills which is the same surname as Walter's wife Esther! |

Emily Butler was down as Henry Hill's sister in law in 1851. There's a marriage in 1846 for Henry to Kezia Butler, but he is a widow by 1851. There's a death for Kesiah Hills in 1849, which is likely to be her. both registered Thanet. |

Looks like Mary Ann Hills was Henry's sister, and still not married at the time of Henry's death in 1878. His probate record: |

If Walter Offen Butler's father was an Offen, there are 2 very likely candidates in the right area in 1841 - Thomas Offen (24) and Alfred (20) - they are with their parents John & Harriett Offen in 1841 in Boughton Malheb, John is a farmer. |
