If you buy a copy of his marriage certificate it will give you his father's name and occupation and also his address at the time of marriage which may help find other info. |

Samantha, forgot to mention, if you order the cert from GRO there is a box to tick if the GRO reference is known - tick that, all of the info is on the record I posted earlier. |

After doing a bit of digging i think i have come up with some better information. |

I have also found 2 records exactly the same with Roberts birth year (1903 i believe) and where he lived however each one has a different name for his father. |

Not the same house number as the death record, so don't take this as being 'right' without checking thoroughly. It's probably sheer coincidence |
