Find Ancestors

Hi I am trying to find the marriage certificates for my father.

His name was Gordon Frederick Richardson born 1921. His father was Charles Frederick Richardson born 1896 Harborough.
I cannot find any marriages for him on line, but I know he was married three times may be even four.

I have his marriage cert to my mother - RAF Biggin Hill on that it says he was a widower?
His RAF no was 551953

Can any one help or point me where to look next

If you are entering his full name, it won't come up.
Only second name initials were used in 1900's

or in case he didn't use his middle name .. just Gordon

Hi Mike, yes those are his family listed above, so Frederick Charles Richardson is my grand father.



My father (Gordon Frederick) was born in 1921
He married my mother in 1956 at Woolwich her name was Elsie Patricia nee McConnell.

On their marriage cert which I have, it says he was a widower?

So I could possibly have some half brothers or sisters?
I had no idea about this.

I would love to know who he was married to before my mother, they never spoke of it.

Thank you flip for the sisters info. My brother and I met them as children but could only remember one name.

I wonder if the Margaret E. If the E stands for Evelyne as I thought he called a sister Lyne and Evelyne Richardson witnessed my Baptism. I also have peen trying to find Peggy and I think that was Beryl. It is such hard work when so many of them used their second names.

Joanne - I see you are a new member, what site have you been using to find births/marriages/deaths? The link Reggie posted is a great free site for any up to the mid 1950s, although some years are not fully transcribed yet they are being added to all the time.

If you consider the 1911 census posted by Mike to be the correct family - the 1901 census gives the children's middle names which is useful in tracing their BMDs:
