All I know is Joseph married a Sarah Ann who was born around 1846 stansfield in Yorkshire.

From what I can work out they had 4x daughters susanna, Mary, Sarah and Anne
And possibly Joseph had a son either with Sarah or from a previous marriage/fling who is called William Charles Crabtree born aug 12th 1878 in Birmingham.

Hoping to find out Joseph's DOB etc

but husband is James Edward

I know Williams info as my nan found some paper work.

I've found a Joseph Crabtree b 1842 and in the 1851 census says there's a Sarah Ann who is a sister born 1848who is 3 maybe there's no wife at the mo? Very confusing!! Sorry will try and find out more

What do you KNOW about William Charles?

You say he was born in Birmingham........there is no birth registration to back up that statement

Laura, start with William and Rose's marriage cert, which will give William's occupation and his father's name and occupation. You can then work backwards through the census.
