Find Ancestors

To MC, W and C - I really appreciate your interest in my wayward rellies and just want to say a HUGE thank you - It gets more interesting every day I could not have found all this info out myself. For one, I dont have Newspaper sub and like Wendy I also have subs for several other sites.

I tend to agree with the idea that Thomas R Kemp did not know about these dodgy dealings.

My connection with all these scallums is this :-

Thomas Reginald Kemp and Esther Nesbitt had 7 children - Thomas Richardson, Reginald Llewellin, our Louisa Adalaide Horneman, Alfred Charles Holmes, Edward Owen, Amelia Crossthwaite and Arthur Wilde.

Louisa's sister Amelia Crossthwaite Kemp" married "my grt uncle Henry Clark Lewis - and there lies some more mysteries - there is no record of a marriage for them and they had 0ne gaughter Gladys Muriel Kemp/Lewis. she goes on to marry Edward Hector McKay. Henry disappears after 1881 but his death is recorded in Germany according to his probate records.

Louisa's brother Frederick Nesbitt Kemp married Eleanor Lewis who's own father James Henry Frederick Lewis ( my gr grt grandfather ) had 2 families on the go at the same time - my gr grtt grandmother Mahala Lewis and Elizabeth Maddison - amnesia must run in the family !

Many of the the Kemps and Lewis's were solicitors, auditors, Barristers, Architects and surveyors and there are several items connected to them in Old Bailey on line.

I think they were all scally wags ducking and diving - if you are confused look at my WALKER TREE on ancestry.

Just thought I would throw this in for you to digest !

Me again, Just looking at all my threads again and did anyone notice that in the 1851 census for Catherine Holyoake where she is a Ward that her brother John is also recorded as married but no wife ? I hope this isn't going to be a search for John in the "dodgy search site ". !!

Catherine in 1841?? she was 20 and a school mistress. Mother Charlotte was 'Ind' (Independant) no father John or brother John

Charlotte and John also had Fanny 34 and Susannah 1838 re IGI baptisms
