Will have a look for another marriage or death of Mary Ann, have had a quick look, but not seeing anything yet.

Further to Violet's birth, I wonder if she was actually born to the 1st marriage, and Percival adopted her after his marriage to Violet. If you look at the registration no. you will notice that there is a R after the number, which usually means that the birth has been re-registered.

Mary Ann was born in Gibraltor in 1837 but often seems to write Ireland as her place of birth so the footscray death you found would fit.

just for interest
her older sibling was born in ireland, then the one after her in Barbados then a couple in Cananda then in the uk until the benjamin from james' second marriage - my great grandmother in ireland. When i knew her to be orphaned I never ever expected to find so many siblings and family members allbeit half siblings. I wondered why they hadn't cared for her- but most had emigrated by that stage or had died.

The death that MarieCeleste posted looks like it would be Mary, good find.

I am not sure about the marriage in N.S.W. of Walter & Clara, as they don't give surnames in their deaths, it makes it very hard to verify records.
