That's why I do not assume, any person, until I have confirmation.

There are a number of trees, which have names that are the same as mine, but born a few years apart, and similar birth places - what they have done, is combined them to make 1 person, so, unfortunately their trees are incorrect. I did contact the owner of the 3 trees, but as yet no-one has amended them accordingly.

By the way, this happens regularly.

The one that had mary hayes as mother was in collingwood- the area where john and mary anns children were born. Eliza thorpe nee mcmahon had the same named parents and also lived in that area. perhpas I am just wanting it to fit so am ignoring the obcvious

On page 2 MarieCelestes' possible death of John McMahon, states that we know that his father's name is Daniel from his marriage.

Strangely, the one I found today, was also born approx. the same year, that is why, we cannot verify which one is correct.

Both John McMahon deaths were in close proximity, in the inner suburbs of Melbourne.

The only was you can really find out who the correct John is, is to purchase a death certificate, they have a lot of information - usually they have parents names, where born, age, how long in colony, children living or deceased.

Walt Saml's father was Samuel, looking at Walt Saml death record it looks like the person filling out his death, put his name instead of his fathers, or it could be mistranscribed!

Further to any McMahon siblings arriving in Australia, as we do not know John's mothers maiden name, it is all just possibilities, which cannot be used as factual.

I think we should have been looking for a walter anderson to a winters marriage.my error.

Is there anyway of finding out more about john mcmahons siblings and parents, it seems that we have eliza who went out to australia and an anastasia who was prehaps a sister in law. I have a possible martin born 1829 but not where they lived before john arrived in liverpool.He was there in 1856 at the time of his marriage to Mary Ann Smith

Cant find a remarriage for Saml to ??Winters, as in a lot of cases, the person filling out the death certificates, just guestimates details!
