On the 1901 census where Jane is down as Housekeeper
Henrietta Channell age 18 is on the image down as "Housekeepers Daughter " NOT "Granddaughter" as transcribed
|
The Jane Noble shown in the marriage to Maurice emmanuel Channell shows her father as William Love This is her first marriage 1/1/1873 St James the great Bethnal green William Henry Noble to Jane Love both of full age , not married before living Bethnal green His father Wiliam Noble Carman Her father William Love Cabinet maker
But it is difficult to find them 1881 -not the ones in Berkeley Glos as he is still with her in 1891 and is Wiliam Holmes Noble
And where did Frederick Channell aged 13 come from in the 1891 census -Henry surely too young to be his father ?

I had not found these records, Thankyou everyone.
The baptism record puzzles me. Maurice Emmanuel Channell....a boot maker. I found Henry Maurice in marriage cert as a bootmaker. I wonder if they are the same person.
I feel there is more to Henry Channell than meets the eye.

So father is Maurice Emmanuel or Henry Maurice or William Maurice!
|
I think what we may be up against is Jewish immigration and the common habit of anglicising German or Polish names to avoid discrimination and changing them at will Cant find anything on an August Maurice Channell -said to be father of Maurice Emmanuel yet he must have been in the country in 1851 if henry was born here in Shoreditch Might be an idea to try one of the Jewish genealogy sites
