Thank you so much, Brummiejan. Unfortunately it's not helping me find my missing person but at least it's ruled another path out. I'm struggling with her (May Brian) on several fronts. Only appears in 1911 census born 1890. Can't find birth, no trace of any Brian siblings and no marriage to my Grandfather (Gordon Simmonds) around 1916/17. Her Mother appears to be of Irish origin. Boy, this hobby drives you nuts! |

Have you tried Irish 1901 just in case they are over there? |

MAY BRIAN is the missing one. Can't find her birth, marriage to my Grandfather Gordon Simmonds (1917/18ish) siblings or Census records for 1901. |

I thought the young Kathleen in the 1901 might be her sister. |

Not sure where to head for Irish records. Could you point the way please? |

Have tried Kathleen (the mother) and May under Brian and O'Brian but nothing. |

That 1901 might be them you know - "Catherine" is a laundry washer, same as May in 1911. |

Well worth looking into. Thanks Jan. Not a spelling I've come across so far. Will have a good look. This feels GOOD!!! |

Like I said - it feels right!! Will pursue this for sure. (Now I'm sounding Irish!) So far I've had 3 different spellings of her name. Father's birth cert says she was Brian. His brother's cert she's down as Bryan and now you've thrown this into the mix! Oh, what fun. |
