hi all before i begin can i just say a HUGE thanks for all your help so far !!!

im looking now to try and trace my maternal grandfathers side ..

the info i have so far is..
JOHN FISHER
born dec q 1911 (10a 1386) Sunderland mother maiden name Thompson

he married Elizabeth Usher march 1935 sunderland (10a 993)

death (1a 776) july.aug sept 1952.

will he have been to young to be on the 1911 census ?? any advice on where to go next will be gratefully recieved

Not born when 1911 census was taken

Two options......buy his birth cert for full, accurate parental details, or take a punt on a Fisher/Thompson marriage in the area, but be aware that you could pick the wrong one, as the surnames are common, and you don't have any idea of when the marriage would have been.............or even, in reality, where

He could have numerous older siblings........or be their first-born.

It is also possible that the mother had been married before, and therefore would not have married under the name Thompson............

A possibility for his parents on the 1911 census (although you would need his birth certificate to be certain):-

hi flick .. thaks for looking for me

my mam who is sadly no longer with us gave me the info of est dates etc..as she was brought up with extended family due to both parents dying when she was young .
i have managed to trace johns wifes side of the family (USHER) but kept just coming up stck with john (FISHER)and his side .

just printed off a form from the sunderland website to order their marraige cert.

been today and got the mariage cert of my grandparents which gives the info as follows:-
23.2.1935
john fisher 24yrs ..bachelor..shipyard labourer..27 henry st sunderland. father john fisher (deceased) dock labourer
elizabeth usher 24yrs ..spinster..31 wear street north sunderland.. father edward usher..shipyard labourer.
easy enough ?? but then i find that there was no electoral role in that year to see if john had any siblings !!!!!

i found both deaths today john died 11.8.1952 aged 40 and elizabeth died 26.12.1955 aged 47
any idea where i can go from here for more info on john ? can you search the 1911 census by streets or just names ?
