Hi Margaret

Yes, Tracey is using credits that she bought with her own money, but she had some left over that she couldn't use before they ran out

........ so she's very kindly offered to use them to help other people.

I am getting confused with all this Help Clinic Stuff. Am I the only one? I doubt it. I go onto Help Clinic and it leads me to Trying to Find etc. Where do I go to find the golden team of Help Clinic Advisers? I don't particular want them, just want to know where they are.

I am going away for a few days. I hope this is all sorted when I come back. Where ARE these Starred people? How do we find them? They seem to have gone.

Margaret

Tracey started this thread after Help Clinic was in operation, but people were not getting much help on there, including the fact that there were no helpers overnight or for long periods during the day.

She realised she had these credits that were going to go to waste, and was bored (very important!) ............... so she decided to use her credits to help people

... and gave the thread the ironic title of Help Clinic - A Fully Working One

Anyway, Help Clinic no longer exists! You may find your thread in My Favourites, and it may lead to the thread ......... but I'm pretty certain that you will get no replies.

GR made the announcement this morning on Facebook that they were suspending HC ...... replacing with a Board that tells members how to use the site, and acknowledging that all the help is given by volunteers.

Gold Stars are gone ..... thank heavens, as they really caused much unhappiness.

Here's the posting from FB:-

Genes Reunited Thank you to everyone who has given feedback regarding the trial of the Help Clinic. We are currently collating feedback and in the meantime will be removing the Help Clinic page. The suggestions we receive from members greatly influence the decisions we make for the site. We will shortly be sending out a survey for su...ggestions as to how we can improve the message boards and will look forward to your feedback.

Hi Alison,

The actual listing on SP states McFulton, and looking at the image i would say that was accurate (there are just not enough letters to make Middleton!)

I can email you the image if you wish?, pm me your email address.

The head of the household looks like Daniel, then Hellen and Isabella.

I hope this helps you.

19/06/1825 MCFARLANE AGNES ALEXANDER MCFARLANE/AGNES HOUSTON FR753 GORBALS GLASGOW CITY CITY/LANARK 644/02 0040 0115

Hi Tracey,
I wonder if you could find a marriage for John Wilkie to Bessie ?McCreadie in Glasgow, not sure of the spelling of her name sorry.Possibly about 1898.
John's d.o.b. is 1878, he died in 1922, his 2nd wife signed the death cert .

The 2nd marriage took place in 1918 in Kelvin.

Also if possible a death for Bessie McCreadie, sorry don't know her d.o.b.
Thanks very much
jean ( yes me again )

Ah, the Help Clinic has gone, phew, what a relief. Now all those Stars can carry on doing the good work they always did without getting any stick for it.

Anyway, it looks like Susan has found the marriage of John Allan McDonald and Catherine Turley in Oz. I've sent for the cert, so don't search any more Tracey till I have his parents.

Thanks.

Hi Sandra,

There were no 'certificates' in 1847 only a few lines (if your lucky) in the church book.

This is the marriage you wanted.

19/02/1847 CHERRY JEAN HUGH FLEMING/FR905 F BLANTYRE /LANARK 624/00 0040 0171

The image just states their names and that they were both of that parish.

Apologies Sandra -from your thread

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/trying_to_find/forrester/thread/1250657

I thought you were looking for directions to this one. I posted on this one to bring it to the first page of the board to make it easier to find. Apologies again if that wasn't needed.
