My father patrick about 9 was deserted and found sleeping on a park bench and a young lad, from a mining family we think are Ridgway took him home and brought him up. His mother died in Barmbrough, Yorkshire. My dad I think lived close to Conisbrough/Mexbrough. We don't know what happened to my grandfather John. According to his marriage cert. he would have been 53 in 1929, which was not young at the time! John
