Well done Rose! So this shows her living with Browers or Brewers? Was she married at this point? |

Samantha on the image it is Brewer... no she is not married...but evidently she and James got together :) no marriage that I can see ... this is her 1851 |

Just to take a Brewer birth to James and Fanny that is easy to trace because of the name :) |

Maybe the brower was a spelling mistake? She met him and must have married him young. |

Samantha, it isn't a spelling mistake as such it is Brewer on the image it's just that the transcriber read it as an 'o'... |

I don't think Elizabeth had the same father as Fanny's other children, as in 1881 she is shown as widowed and Elizabeth was born in 1885 x |

This looks like Fanny's death the year or so after Elizabeth was born |

Oh dear thats a shame. As Fanny was widowed to you think maybe she met someone in the workhouse? |
|||
|
Rambling | Report | 12 Jul 2010 14:12 |
the 1891 shows this, I think this is Fanny's son, and I would guess that the 'Emily' below is actually Elizabeth... Fanny's two youngest still in the workhouse |

Don't know if you think this likely but it does seem a coincidence? |

Oh poor things, I am reading a book about the workhouses and they were awful. I have a feeling elizabeth's dad was not james as in 1881 fanny was already widowed x |

Samantha | Report | 12 Jul 2010 14:21 |
Henry Samuel is my grandads dad! All in workhouses :((( |
|||
|
Rambling | Report | 12 Jul 2010 14:25 |
Well that all makes sense then :) very sad that they were in the workhouse... so I'm afraid you won't know Elizabeth's father, but at least you have her mum's side of the family :) |

Thank you Rose. Based on the books that I am reading it could be anyone perhaps? They were not good times for women. The trilogy by Jennifer worth in the 1950's is so good x |
