I have lost enough in the past at casino's Vegas and Palm Springs plus the little ones in Brighton and Southend.
I know I could'nt get away with it having enough trouble with ESA which is jobseekers for the disabled really. I am sure the doctor I had was in another room when she was examining me such a farce.

Evening,
Just got back from Brighton.
Travelling was a nightmare what with signal failures and a tube strike.
The worst bit was coming home from London Bridge.
There were so many people trying to get on the train.
We had to let the first one go.

I can only say that today's session went well with a positive feel to it.

Went for lunch afterwards with daughter and ate outside in sunshine.
Then we hit the shops.

but it's a good idea Fans!

we also have too much money, so have to pay for everyhting

Mind you, we do have an Extended Health Insurance that will refund us som part of what w pay out

............... anywhere from 0% to 80%, depending on what we're claiming for, the state of the moon, what the assessor did or did not do last night, or some such determinant

or so it seems!

Oooo Sylvs, dont let Cyn see you saying that, she would be crying into her tea at the thought of a duster untouched for 40 yrs.
I just use those cottony washing up cloths, as one time I did buy a duster and it sat so long in damp place it got mould on...!

Have you appealed Ja...x?
And I forget what it is you have now,but I have MS in my head.

jax

jax Report 4 Oct 2010 19:59

Yeah I have appealed although I have got it...there are two groups I'm in the work related which means I have to go to the job centre not that they will ever find me a job.
The appeal hearing probably will not be until Feb at the earliest.

ja...x

Yes it is MS primary progressive

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 4 Oct 2010 20:02

No ,but jobseekers pays a lot less so they try to keep people on that.
Do you get mobility as in a car and badge for parking?

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 4 Oct 2010 20:08

What about the MS society Ja...x are you in touch with them?

Fans....are you talking about Ja...x's 'loose' change or are you encouraging her to 'lose' it??

Licks forefinger and draws figure 1 in the air. Yeahhhh.

Sylvs! What do you use for dusters then......OH's old castoffs??

Speaking of dusters, I'd better get tidied round; looks like AoGG has invited visitors in!

It was supposed to be the Final Hearing today but the closure of the childrens Home due to govt cutbacks put a spanner in the works.
Next date is after Christmas.

jax Report 4 Oct 2010 20:16

Oh yeah I get DLA and can have a car if I wanted but as my car only did 800 miles last year waste of £200 a month...blue badge I have not bothered with either as I dont go out on my own but should get one just in case.
I go on the MS forum but they would rather talk about rubbish than anything important.

ja...x

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 4 Oct 2010 20:26

Yep that £200 a month sure is better than a car,but if you bought your own you get free tax on it and they still let you have the mobility money.
Get the blue badge as you dont have to be on your own to use it,just in the car at the time of your use, also it gets you free passage over the seven bridge if you ever want it and I am sure there are lots of other things that we havent found out about yet.
HID has one cos the Osteomylitis (acute)is in his leg and he cant walk far at a time .

Oh yeah Fans I know all that thats why I bought a Jeep cherokee last year as my coupe was not pratical anymore and yes I get it taxed free also.
As I have not been further than 3 miles from home since xmas free tolls have not been needed. I know Dartford crossing is also included, which I used to use on a regular basis when I lived in sussex and went to visit kids or parents this side of the river.

jax

jax Report 4 Oct 2010 21:09

Lol not at all Fans

I have had many an arguement on the MS board about motability, when they start saying how wonderful it is they get this new car and all they have to put in is petrol!!!
No mention that it is costing them £200 a month which could be put to better use when they are pleading poverty.

ja...x

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 4 Oct 2010 21:25

Actually Ja...x it works out that it costs more than the petrol.

HID used to have the car and did a study on it over the 3 yrs he had to keep it and it worked out better off to take the money, buy an "older"car with free tax thrown in and unlimited mileage.
Them cars are on certain mileage per month and when it goes for MOT or service if you are over then you have to pay the extra mileage(like a rental?)and if they have scratches bumps ,damaged tyres on etc that you didnt see or know about done to them you are charged the first £70 of the repair and when/if you stop having the car and take the money and buy your own the no claims bonus is lost cos its THIER insurance,so your own insurance is sky high when you start out again.
Think I got all that right?

And no way does it cost 2.5k a year to keep his car on the road, specially with free tax.
