A bit of humorous sideline from that event Tracey would appreciate. The event was the 150th anniversary of the community and there was a street event. As I am the volunteer in charge of security for community events I had arranged for road closures parking restrictions and policing. When I arrived to coordinate the road closure there was a pick up truck truck parked under a city installed "No Parking" sign. I called city parking office to have vehicle ticketed and towed. About 1/2 hr later I got a radio call to attend at the scene of the vehicle as there was a problem. I grabbed one of my policemen and went in the cart to the scene. What had happened when the tow truck driver opened the illegally parked truck to tow it away he found 2 large freezer zip lock bags full of a certain "medicinal" herb which some people smoke. In addition to the parking/towing costs he faced a charge of possession.

Moral of story "Don't park illegally in my community"

Question.

Why on earth did the tow truck man not play finders keepers with the medicinal "herbs"as the original owner would not have gone to cops to report it missing, now would he?
Worth a few bob that little lot..

Not that I wouldnt have done the same as the tow truck driver of course !

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 23 Sep 2010 14:00

No. No. No. I don't do voluntary cooking!

Cleaning....yes.

Cooking....no.

Have now run out of halo polish for all concerned.

Fanny, I know you well enough to say that had you been the tow truck geezer...that bag of happy puff would have been sold within the hour!

Okay....you'll love this.....

I need to dress up (mildly) as a pantomime character next month. I am running a 'speciality coffee shop' stall at a Christmas fair. Ideas would be grateful received and I am expecting some very rude answers but will ignore them in favour of the more sensible variety. Goodness knows why I am asking in the first place......

Speciality Coffee Shop??

They have those in Amsterdam I am led to believe...

Purchases are similar to those found by "Tow truck operatives" rather than your stanard Danish Pastry or slice of Carrot cake I am also led to believe.

Really cant remember a lot of my visit to Amsterdam back in the days..:)

B####y site wont let me send pms now !
And the b####y little white envelope has been showing for days ,even when I have no new pms. !

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

FBG seems to have a one-track mind today. A tad fixated on the shiny object are we? ;) Home grown herb, uh, herbs, I trust.

Thanks for the clarification Irene -- I didn't know what job I might be in line for! I haven't applied for a job in, oh, 35 years. Speaking of which, have had fingers silently crossed for Ginny's whatsit.

I do not clean. Remember, I almost had to learn how to operate the washing machine when No.1 was forced to spend a month reclining. I'm not quite sure where he stores the vacuum cleaner ...
