Find Ancestors

Not sure if my girls like there or not, they dont really know any different.
Eldest daughter moved to the nearest town a few months ago, but as far as I'm concerned its just as bad full of nutters and inbreds.
You see these escape to the country programmes on TV and they all want a nice villiage pub!!
There were two in my villiage and I ran one of them and I would'nt give either of them the time of day now

Hi all

daughter phoned late last night to say they had arrived home ....... 2½ hours late. It was well after midnight her time!

Apparently there was a further delay in Toronto ........ the new crew had not turned up on time for duty!


I went shopping this afternoon, downtown. Got several bargains ... a couple of tops for me and a short sleeved dress shirt for OH.

The weather is much cooler now, and there might even be some rain overnight

...... but the smoke from the wild fires in the interior of the province have now been blown east as far across the country as northern Ontario ................ almost 2000 km away! People all along that "path" of smoke / haze are being warned of bad air quality and to stay indoors if they have any health problems.

We, in Vancouver, are in no danger at all. The closest fire to the city is about 200 km away. We have had some smoke being blown south and out through the valleys to the coast. So there have been a couple of days when it has been "smelly".


The cabin we own though is up in the centre of the area where most of the fires have occurred. So far as we know, there has not been a fire in that immediate vicinity, and our cabin and 20 acres are safe ........ but I must admit that neither OH and I has been sorry that we have been unable to go up there yet.

In fact, we would not have gone up there in any case with the high fire danger, even if daughter and family had not been visiting us!
