Bryn...small hill or Brian?

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 31 Jul 2010 22:22

Hill (small mountain)is the literal translation from Welsh to English and bryn is used in everyday speech so no Brian about it.

Right, thats washed the kitchen and bathroom floor ready for "the visit"tomorrow.
Bezzies eldest daughter is very houseproud and will only make a comment if I dont make an effort.
Younger daughter is considered a slob by eldest daughter cos she is like me,only does it for "visits".

But youngest daughters children are healthier than elder daughters cos they are always allowed to get dirty but not elder daughters.
They have to wash their hands every five minutes poor souls.
Well not when they are here they wont cos I shall tell em the water has been turned off due to a leak or something !!

And the worst bit?

I only did it this time last year for "the visit"...the work these girls put me to...

SylviaInCanada Report 31 Jul 2010 22:57

I'm thinking we might need to vacuum the carpet and wash the kitchen floor next Friday ....... niece is coming for the afternoon on her way from there to there via Vancovuer ...... and she has an 18 month old.

I think he's walking ............. which means I also have to "baby proof"

aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

that's tooooooooooooooooooooo much work in one day!

I know Sylv.

yearling grandson came with parents and older Madam Granddaughter and Master grandson just after christmas when he was crawling.

We had to make barricades everywhere and you should have seen the state of his hands and knees !
Black they were, and him a little ginger so very light skinned.

I only have to wash the floor and a pack of dogs make it dirty again ,so its a losing battle here.

But the front room is pretty clean as they are banned from there.

Thank Evans D.I.L is not fussy and its their 3rd.

She wrote on facebook that a clean house was no place to raise healthy children !

So she cant moan about mine, and hers is VERY untidy.

But they are happy which is the main thing.

Off to bed to charge batteries ready for the stampede and slaving over a hot stove for 10 mouths to feed tomorrow.

I used to think daughter was more house proud than I am ............... turns out she isn't, and son-i-l has adapted!

His mother was a terror .................... if anyone visited, house had to be cleaned from top to bottom, even places that guests would not go near.

She never could give a surprise party for any member of her family 'cos she'd be cleaning for days beforehand!

I really dislike housework, always have ....... that's why I have Teresia every 2 weeks. Summer's difficult though, 'cos she goes away or has visitors!

and we don't have pets that could make matters worse.

I just have a husband! :)))))

My Mum and my aunt are on FB .
My Mum keeps putting things on chat and when I type a reply a minute or so later she has gone.
I keep an eye on my kids and nieces and nephews though.

Now this is bad..
I stripped the bed this morning and washed all the linen but forgot to remake the bed !
Just finished so now I can get into it.

Bezzies eldest daughter is so houseproud that when she was in labour last March with the latest offering all she kept moaning about was that she hadnt washed her skirting boards !

Asked Bezzie if she would clean before she came home from hospital....Bezzie said she would have to tell her what needed cleaning as she didnt know where to start as it was so clean anyway...!

Now that is extreme I think, but I do love her to bits.

I like that name Michael..

Night.
