hello everyone,i have limited info on my grandma,she was susan annie gregson born18 jul 1905- (died apr 1979 in oldham),this is were i need help,my dad norman hurst born 30 nov 1930,his dad thomas hurst (this is all i know of him) was not married to susan,she lived with him as his wife,but in 1952 she went out one day and married patrick tolan and moved in 2 doors away.on marriage index it states her name as royales.my dad died in 1989 so no one around to get any info off,anything that can be found on susan would be appreciated,i know thomas had children but they had no more to do with him when my dad was born.not sure if susan had any children or if she was married before my dad was born.as a child we lived with thomas in mafakin st oldham that was from 1958 any help would be most welcome.

Possibly the death for her first husband - which is why she never married Thomas??

As Susan wasn't divorced from Albert Royales and wasn't married to Thomas Hurst the birth would have been registered in both her married name and in Thomas' name.

My fourth child is registered twice - I wasn't married to the father at the time so he is registered under my surname at the time and also under my partner's surname.

Looks like Jack and Maria were only registered under the surname Royales.

thank's for that,i wonder were jack&maria went,i had never heard of them until they popped up here,
i hope it's not like another of my relation's who had all but the eldest (my grandma)&the youngest,put in barnardo's.
then went on to have a few more.the mind boggles.

Possibly as Jack and Maria were full-blooded Royales they stayed with Albert after Susan and he parted company?

Flick posted a marriage for Jack and there is a marriage in the 1940's for Maria to a gentleman called Osborne.

hello,back again i have thomas mmn cooney born 1888 in oldham,there were 6 children all mmn cooney,i have them on1891 census.
samuel hurst-wife anne,
mary ann-14.
thomas-13.
sarah ellen-1890b.
there were 3 more children between1892-1895.
but i cannot find them in 1901 census.
if someone could look it would be appreciated,
