Thanks for the replies Dee and Kay. I reckon Dee found her, my wife thinks Swansea and the name Llewellyn rings a bell. Julia's sisters wrote to her years later and we know she went to see them in Wales once. Unfortunately the letters went missing and so Julia's daughters haven't been able to make contact with maybe their first cousins to learn more about their Welsh past. One of Julia's daughters lives close by and we'll see does the name Minnie sound familiar. I don't suppose there are any other siblings with the same parents listed anywhere? Thanks again for the help. |

Just read your last reply Dee, fair play, amazing stuff. All fits into place. Will try to make contact on Ancestry and will have a look at the 1911 census. |

Patrick...A check of the 1881 census for Glam.and assuming the first child (Maurice ) followed trad.naming patterns there is on a few Maurice O'Briens listed ..one in particular states place of birth as the Co Waterford... |

This could be James and father in 1901..... note the same name as found in the 1881 census; Maurice; |

Looks like Maurice and Julia's marriage? |

Sadly here is Julia's death; |

This is a real stab in the dark with Julia's parentage..... the marriage certificate should state her fathers name; |

Patrick...If you look at the 1901 census posted by BatmansDaughter...you will see a Patrick Shancehan also lodging at the same address with Maurice and James O'Brien...my guess its Shannahan..(mistranscribed)...a check on 1911 would show place of Birth... |

Eringobragh1916 I wonder if Michael Flynn aged 52 on the 1901 census is also related??? |

Michael Flynn is showing as born in Ireland and is a cousin to the head of the house Johanah Donovan (female) born in Ireland. |
