I'm only back in from work and have just checked this thread. What an absolute avalanche of information, when you all get your teeth into something you just don't let go. My wife is over the moon and can't thank you all enough, as does her own mother Lucy (Julia's daughter). We also learned today from Lucy that she knew of 3 sisters of Julia, they were Minnie, Rose and Kate but nothing about anyone else. Julia was sent to Co. Waterford but to who is a mystery. Julia then seems to have headed to Co. Kerry when she was about 17 where she married a local man. My wife would be thrilled to find out about her Welsh cousins!!! |

Have been trying to get our heads around the various relations you have all found for us and how these relations are connected to one another!! We're still trying to work out when Julia came to Ireland? We thought it was straight after her mother Rosina Llewellyn died in 1921 but apparently not. Julia seems to have lived with her father James and her new stepmother after he remarried for a spell. Could someone please help find out when James remarried? |

Thanks for that. The year 1929 for the marriage would fit in as the Julia did recall before her death 2-3 years ago having some recollections of her stepmother. My wife has just found an old photo (no date) of Julia as a very young child with her father James and the unknown stepmother!! My wife has also got in touch with one of her Aunts, a daughter of Julias and she has some old letters etc that might help further with the puzzle. |

Patrick...Some indication of when Julia came to Ireland may be found in the Marriage Reg at the Church where she married...It ought to have details of her Baptism and Confirmation...also if she was under 21 when she married there would need to be a written consent to the PP from her Father or the eldest Male relative.... |
