Yes - its is certainly looking good. There are those family names Alexander and Francis - they have come down through the family. |

Thats interesting, Thomas being an ag lab in 1841. Obviously the farm wasn't passed down to him - maybe he married into a family with a farm - Jane Little's family. Surely in those days an ordinary ag lab wouldn't be able to buy a farm......maybe he leased West Craigs. All very interesting. |

Morning Jacqueline - your were up late! Thanks so much for the info. Am a bit puzzled as on Jane Armstrongs Marriage cert to William Carter (on 10 Oct 1881 in Hammersmith) - its says Father - Thomas Armstrong - farmer. I see you have found that he died in Jan 1881. I expect they omitted ......deceased. On Scot records - does it say where Thomas died - was it Middlebie? Wonder why the son in Hammersmith reg the death when I'm sure there were other family around if it was Middlebie. |

Thanks for that Jackie - just wanted to make sure that Thomas died in Middlebie. Obviously they left off deceased on the marriage cert. Thanks so much for checking for me. |

Cannot find a birth with matcing parents but there is a chance that his mother could have passed and his father remarried but records are sketchy back then to say the least. Can find nothing for Francis whatsoever. |

Thanks again - I see that in Helen's IGI list there is an Andrew Armstrong born 1833 - also Middlebie - maybe a relation - there seems to be quite a gap what do you think. |
