No - she is a servant for the Barnett family. |

Sorry, should have said, Slater Staples is brother of Francis. |

Thanks both of you for that information. I was hoping to find her with her sister Sarah, as she is not available in the 1861 census on Genes Reunited. |

Odd that there is a marriage mentioned for Slater Staples as he is described on all the census returns as "unmarried" not "widower". |

Can't find Sarah Staples in 1861 either (on Ancestry). Could she have married - and (just a thought) is there any chance that Anne Phillips could be a grandchild rather than just a visitor? Sorry I haven't got time to carry on searching now but will come back to this later and see if I can find anything. |

Aveyronnaise. Yes it is odd. IGI record is a mystery with no proof. Sarah Elizabeth Staples is the ancestor I am trying to match up but is her father Francis or Slater Staples. Can you possibly find her in the 1861 census for me. I think her birth is listed in free bmd as female in 1841. |

Aveyronnaise. I have just read your message after posting mine. Would appreciate any help. |

Just a note to be careful about the info about the Staples family on LDS - all the entries I have seen have been SUBMITTED not EXTRACTED and therefore need to be treated with caution! |

Are you definite that she is Sarah ELIZABETH Staples? And if so, how? Have you traced her back from yourself (and therefore know of a marriage)? I agree that the 1851 census appears to call her Sarah E but the only BMD match I am getting for 1840+or-2 for Rutland is Sarah ANN. |

Darn! I came across their marriage earlier and discounted it ... give me 5 minutes and I'll bring it back up. |

A propos of nothing, have you got this record from the 1911? |

Aveyronnaise, thanks for that info, I did not know they were living at Tixover Grange, obviously in service. |

I can't find the blooming marriage now! |
