p.s My nan remarried about 1968 aged 74 I think it was and I cant find that, I was at the wedding to a man of about 84 she met in the home she was living in. My dad died in 2003 and I was hoping my mum could help but shes 85 and cant remember much. She didnt recognise the picture of Elizabeth that Maria put on here or the family. Nan wanted to be a Walker again so think she did marry to do that before she died. Pain in the backside really!! We lived in Durban Road and your nan lived in Corporation Street so why we never had contact is anyones guess! Something about being a Ferris my dad didnt like apparently lol Hope this helps |

Christie, my nan was Ada Elizabeth Walker 19 father Albert Frederick Walker (deceased) Carman, 1909 on the marriage cert who married to Thomas Augustus Lawrence 22, stoker, father William James Lawrence, Stonemason still living 1909. It is correct that Walter is on the census as Head in 1901. I have been doing most of my tree on Ancestry so I will let you see that if you would like. I never knew that nan had a sister but since found out my sister knew. Grandad always said he was found on a doorstep with his brother and my dad showed me where! (untrue) I have had to do this off my own back and have had contact with a few relatives who have found other bits out. |

Buy certs on line from the GRO - if you have the full index reference it costs £7. |

I also notice on the 1901 census Ada says her age is 27 making a birth year of 1874 and that she was born in west ham |

Morning Astra, i do appreciate your efforts with this i just hope we crack it some day, anyway i found a james walker in prison in 1891 census in bodmin, he was born c1868 and came from west ham i wondered if he had any connection with our family, i just put the ino on the boards and a kind lady has told me he was sentenced to 12yrs so probably not connected. It's very strange that we cant find ada in 1891 census |

Right just spoke to my dad, and he says Ada Horsted was still alive in 1939 because she was round there house when war was declared and they were all listening to the radio (that may be a useless piece of info), he says my nan Elizabeth had a brother Jim (prob James), and sisters ginny (don't know what that would be short for) and a sister cissy (again dont know what thats short for) . Dunno if this helps? |

Tracy/Astra, so we know that Walter fathered Ada & Elizabeth and he was around in 1901. |

That would all make sense if we didn't have her as married or living with Walter in 1901. I can't locate either of them in 1911, |
