	Yes Alan on the wirral I m struggling with My gt grandparents I have them on the 1861 and 1871 census,but because I never new them or my grandparents I only know what I found on thecensus. I m looking for birth marriage and death records but Im guessing as to were they took place.My gtgrandfather was George Spencer born 1835 nr Blackburn and Elizabeth Bland born 1836 Nottingham,living in Manchester in 1861 1871 but cannot find them after that,their son William Henry my grandfather lived with Georges sister Betty when he was 19 and when he was 29 this is all I know Catherine

	when you say 'nr Blackburn" where exactly do you mean please. When was son Edward born - was it in Manchester. I assume you have his birth certificate if you know his mother's maiden name.

	Marriages Sep 1857 Billington Ellen Preston 8e 592f Bland Eliza Preston 8e 592f Something's wrong there, but I can't tell what (there are several entries for Preston in that quarter that have transcription problems in the volume or page number). No George Spencer seems to have married in Preston in that quarter, though. It's conceivable that one or both of them had a previous marriage, since their first (surviving) child was born when they were 25ish. In that case, Elizabeth could have married under a different surname, or they may not have married.
