Born I think in Bury Lancashire I belive around 1870/1880
I know he died in 1950 in Middlesbrough I have that information

My dad told me he remembers his mum saying tohim that he played cricket for either bury or lanchashire I would love any information on him and his family who I think ran a butchers shop etc thanks kind regards Andy

that is the problem he did not marry but was with courting with my grandmother until he died in 1950 her name was Winfred Gwendoline Blair Patterson ( who I know about) who later re married

So he was 68 when he died ,that puts him at a 1882 birth.

When were his children born so that the 1911 census can be searched .

Were the children born 1947/48/and 49 in M'bro and one in 1944 in bury?

I am not sure if he was that age as I don't really know what year he was born all I know is what my dad has told me it was Bury in Lanchashire and that he died when he was 2 and that would of been 1950

So you say you have his death, but you dont have his death certificate then?
It will have his age on it,so have you not got his age and the informant of his death..
The Charles Rhodes death that I found on Ancestry in 1950 in Middlesbro says he was 68.
Is that not him then?

Wnifred wasnt born til 1909 that I can make out,so he would have been almost 30 yrs older,is that correct?

Yeh Winifred was not born until 1909 yeh my dad said he was older than her but he never known his dad and not even seen a picture of him as he died while he was 2 it seems there is not much info on him as he did not marry Winifred but they had 4 children together...

Yeh he died in 1950

You really need to buy his death certificate for any information it can give you.

British Phone Books, on ancestry, have a
W. Rhodes , Btcher 603 Market St. Whitworth (which is just near Bury)
He is listed from at least 1929 to 1961 - didn't check any further.
Could this be his family?
