I am trying to find out some information regarding one of Archibalds sisters Dorothy Rhoda Mary. My great Aunt believes that my 3x great grandparents adopted her around 1906 or there abouts. i have found much information on Archibald himself and his parents but nothing about Dorothy. My great Aunt thinks Mary married a Professor Organ

Why was she adopted as her mother Mabel Hill did not die until 1956 and lived near Archibald in England

My 3x great grandparents were Fred Chadwick and Emma Burke, came from Chorlton, Manchester adn later moved to Wrexham

Any information or help would be greatly appreciated

Archibald McIndoe was famous and his parents quite wealthy. Don't have any other information other than what i have already mentioned. Dorothy Rhoda Mary is one person. (if her middle names are correct, I'm surprised my great Aunt remembers as she is nearly 80!)

I can't understand the adoption unless Mabel was really her grandmother (an illagitamate child maybe)

But where does this fit in with McIndoe and Mabel Hill????

How old was she when she died and does it tie in with her age on marriage certs ?

It would be nice to know how Amy, the original poster, knew about the mother's name, Mabel Hill. Also that Dorothy was a sister to Archibald McIndoe.
