Wow thank you for all of this wonderful information! I have been offline for a few days but this is fantastic! With this, can I ask a question ... who on earth is Mary Jane Magee who marred Mr Sproat ... I suppose she was the daughter of Mary Magee (illegitimate), before she married John Quigley?

Peter if you go back to page 1 you'll see AnnCardiff posted (a few years back!) an 1881 census that showed a May J Magee, that most likely is the lass who married Robert Sproat in 1891.

I am already in touch with a branch descended from part of the tree and I see that they have her marrying a William Ferguson in 1891 in Hartlepool, County Durham. Maybe this Mary Jane Magee was unoffically adopted and took that family name at that specific time?
