It maybe an idea to get the marriage cert of the 1914 marriage.You would then have father's name also.As there is a daughter Mary Beal in the household(daughter of Mary) you will need to determine whether daughter Mary had the child out of wedlock or that 1 of the sons was the father.I have noticed a death in 1891 in same reg district as the 1891 of Mary (Grandmother) of a William 1866

I have contacted the main GRO for a birth certificate for Dorothy Francis and given them all info I have but they didn't sound very hopeful at all. Will let you know outcome.

Can I bug you again? In the 1851 census Mary E Dyer is listed with the Dyers aged 4 and born in Worcester. In 1881 census a Mary Dyer aged 30 born Evesham, Worcester is shown as a nurse. She is shown in Warley Hall, Warley Salop, Worcs. Do you think she is the same Mary? Could you check please.

Nerine a while ago found a Mary Elizabeth Dyer, born Dec 1847 in Shipston and a marriage to Richard Withers in Shipston June 1888 but I cannot find them in 1891. Could you check please.

Also have a Mary Francis aged 40 who died in Bromsgrove December 1890 could she be Dorothy's mother? (Dorothy born 1890).

Have a John (Jack?) Francis in 1871 census aged 18 born in Ombersley - what do you think? Father of Dorothy?

Finally, Frederick Price (husband of Annie Dyer) died in 1887 aged 29. Could Annie have remarried and had Dorothy?

Hello again Michelle

I have hit another brick wall this time on my family's side. I have traced my great great grandparents back to the 1871 census which shows John and Mary Davies and children living in Dowlais, Merthyr Tydfil.

John is shown as being born in Newcastle Emlyn, Carmarthen but I have written Llandyssil, Newcastle in Emlyn ( so I must have seen it somewhere in my searching).

John seems to have been born in 1832 and Mary in 1836 in Monmouthshire.

Any further information you could give me going back would be great as I cannot find any more info before 1871. Marriage details and deaths would also be good.

Hi, Michelle, would it be possible for you to look up the 1851 andd 1861 census for James Maguire. He is listed on the 1871 census as being born in Ireland. On the 1871 census he is listed as being aged 38 occupation railway labourer and living in Toxteth Park area of liverpool with his wife
sarah and they have three children listed on that census, Patrick Susannah and John. In the 1881 census Sarah is listed as widowed, and their youngest son is listed as Joseph aged 3 years. I deduce that he died between 1878 and 1881. Also if you have time could you find the death details. The family lived Toxteth Park, Lancashire England.

Hi Michelle,
The names are from my father, Winifred was his mother. He cant remember much as he was born in north wales and he never met his grandparents this is all that he was told. He is rather confused as to which one is the eldest but is sure of his mothers birthday and birth place but none off the oters also his grandparents names and and the names of his mothers brothers and sisters.
Do you think it best if I get winifreds birth cert I did find one on free bmd that could be her. Sorry I'm so vague but this is all I can get out of him to start me off. None of his living brothers and sisters seem to have the birth / marriage cert I have asked and they think the date is correct my father was the youngest and he is 77. He lived away from home from when he was 16 so missed out on a lot of information.

Please could you find Rosa Harriett Boltwood age 38 born Norfolk and living in Herts, husband William plus children in the 1891 and also in 1901. I did look on the 1901 index and she is listed as R. Harriett Boltwood age 48 born Norfolk Thorpe, living Cheshunt.
