Have you found a death of her 1st husband |

Sandra Louise | Report | 18 Sep 2008 18:42 |
No but I had help to find the death of Frederick first wife in 1883. Ellen and frederick had children together by the time of the 1901 census. Their olderst child at that time was nine. Ellen had two previous children of 14 and 15, in the 1901 census. |

Perhaps they were just living together and said they were married. |

james Thomas Chapman born 30th November 1895 is the son of Frederick and Ellen. Although his date of birth, and age are slightly out on one of the census's. He was registered in Jan 1896. |

Yes, I think I have her in the 1891 census, she was a visitor at the house my great grandfather was lodging at 43 Brayards Road, camberwell, Peckham. She had no children with her at the time. |

I haven't been able to find anything, and it has been driving me mad. If I didn't have the birth certificate of my grandfather in front of me, I would question the marriage at all. I have also had trouble finding Elizabeth his sister. |

Can't even find a birth for Ellen! Wonder if she had a different first name, say Elizabeth Ellen and used her middle name. |
