It always amazes me how many people have no manners.
I thinkit's not only polite to thank people, but it lets them know how worthwhile they are.
I make a point of replying on my threads and very often PM as well with message topic so they know which query I'm from.
I am so sorry to hear you all experiencing this lack of manners and only hope plenty read this thread, and remember the comments.
I cant thank those enough that have helped me.

i spent hours yesterday helping two people in particuler asked them for their email so i could send it all direct sent every census from 1841 to 1901 info off family search info off other peoples trees off ancestry have they answered me NO!!
then you get others you give them a little bit of info and they cant thank you enough

kerry , i suggest you put your request on the trying to find board under your own name that way more people will see it give names and dates as much as you know and places as much info as you know that way more chance of finding info for you good luck , ann

Here's what I am doing now, every single time there has not been a reply/acknowledgement in a thread where I have offered info or asked further questions, by the time I go home that day. A quick review of "My Threads", and off go the PMs.

Anybody who wants to copy and paste and do the same, welcome!

You probably didn't expect immediate answers to your post. You got some! It's always wise to stick around for a half hour to check, especially since people will have questions.

If you go to the Trying to Find board (please click "remove this filter" if you see it on the left, so you see the whole Trying to Find board the way others see it, not filtered by your surname), you can click on "My Threads" on the left. You will see your post.

Click on it to read replies. Type in the box at the bottom to add a post.

(Please please don't reply by private message/PM -- it confuses people who post in many threads a day, and it means no one else can see any info you have to add.)
