So there's a possibility the original German Buxton died in NSW but had a son who had/made a fortune in Australia & returned to England.

It's interesting how the brothers found in the 1841 census, John & German, have humble origins - colliers. In later censuses they both have businesses & their father is a farmer of 72 acres. Do you think they may have inherited the original German's fortune? I wonder if there's a will?

I have a big hunch that German & John are the ones referred to as having a partnership in a coal mine, & German is the one who had the shop. However where the original German fits in is a mystery.
