Cheshire is the county of Chester and achieved its status of a city in 1541. The Romans occupied Cheshire for almost 400 years, from 70 AD, and created the town and fort of Deva Victrix, now Chester. Cheshire is long known for its salt and famous for its cheese since the Middle Ages. We have a total of 3,747 Monumental Inscription records.
