Albert Sharp served in Calcutta in WW1

Granddad Albert G C Sharp served in Calcutta in WW1 won a cup for All India Military Boxing Tournament as a Heavy Weight in Calcutta in 1917 as Pte AG Sharp 1/10 Battalion Middlesex Regiment. Has anyone ever found any records of soldiers who served in Calcutta in WW1.

Researching:
Hazell in Elmstead and Ardleigh, Essex pre 1900. Petley in Sudbury, Suffolk and Finchley, Middlesex. Frederick Sharp in Hammersmith/Fulham Middlesex and wife Emma Kimber from Milton Lilbourne, Wiltshire. James Shaw from Audlem Cheshire married to Sarah Dutton - daughter Mary Ann Shaw born 1808 and they moved to Islington, Middlesex where she married William James Hazell, Son of James Hazell. John Brown b 1842 in Stoney Stratford m Fanny Woodell Tucker 1870 in Potterspury. Son Robert William Brown b 1876 married 1913 to Jessie Lockyer Florence Markwick b 1889 in Bognor daughter of Walter Thomas Markwick and Jessie Emma Sarah Sophia Crosskey.

This looks like his medal card from Findmypast, but there are no service records listed so unfortunately his must have been amonst the 70% of WW1 records that were destroyed in a fire in WW2. :-
