Given the date of the enlistment (almost at the beginning of the war), I wonder if he had previously been in the Army or the Territorials and was called up rather than volunteered? |

Austin Q you could volunteer after age 41. My grandfather did and was put in the Veterinary Corps - the war horses. He had a wife and 5 children. He was injured and returned home for a few weeks. When he left grandma was pregnant with my father. |

Hi , I have a photo of my great granddad William Grundy and his brothers all in uniform in 1916 ! one brother, in the Grenadier guards, was added from another pic cos he died in 1914. I have searched the other 4 names in the military records but cannot find them , any ideas please , they are not wearing caps or badges in the picture ! |
