Many thanks for your help, the medal card entries look like a good starting point, those first 4 entries you listed look promising . As far as i know je left the army after the war and returned to mining, he married on 1919, my mother was born in the same year, they lived in Musselburgh . |

http://www.theroyalscots.co.uk/help-on-research/ says that as there is no longer a Regimental Headquarters of The Royal Scots, they can't help with finding records. The page directs you to the National Archives or Ancestry. |

I have been trying to find the military record of my Grandfather who served in the Royal Scotts during WW1, he fought in the trenches in France and was a radio operator. I have done some searches but had no luck so far. His name was David Baird Young born March 28th 1896 in Hamilton. He survived WW1. He would have been a coal miner at the time of his enlistment. |
