Caroline has both David Banks and Joan Hawksworth in her person listing on this site,-----------

David seems to have been the child of a relationship but no marriage

The poster has been in touch with another son of the father but was asked not to contact the father

But all that history isn’t a help because David was confirmed as being later adopted

The tree on Ancestry, which I mentioned before, lists a third partner for Joan, but no marriage dated, so presumably she was just using his surname at the time of David's birth, for it to be registered under both Banks and Blinch.

The partner's name is George William Blinch - no other details given.
One male child listed, but details kept private - presumably that's David.
Only Deborah is listed as a child of Richard Thomas Banks - at least, a female child is listed, but details private.

Have been messaging Tracey with lots of info on the whole family too

Re Tracey’s post at 13,32. Both the Banks and Blinch births have the same reference ( freebmd) so are likely to be the same birth, maybe an error on one.

So he was adopted

You can add your name to the adoption contact register on the gro and details would be given to him if he does a search for his name

Plus on freebmd you can add a note on his birth record which will be seen again if anyone looks up his birth

Afraid without his new name you can’t progress any further

My sister has just confirmed that on the copy of David's birth certificate right at the end a note has been typed "Adopted - W.F Soward Superintendent Registrar".

This is different to the name of the registrar which was A.J Sweetman.

I don't know what name he took to be honest. as well as the entry stating his last name as Banks, I've just found this:

With regards to David's biological dad............ this avenue has been explored and its very unlikely!

Just thought I would update you on what I know so far!

As Mistycat has confirmed Debbie & I are half-sisters and grew up together when our mum divorced her dad and married my dad!

Debbie discovered recently that our mum also had another baby in 1958. She requested a copy of his birth certificate and received a full version, including full name and address of the father. There is no mention of adoption on the certificate, nor an A in the margin. I'm now led to belief that if he was adopted we wouldn't be able to receive a full version of his birth certificate??? This of course adds to the whole mystery!!

Also it's DAVID BANKS not DAVID WILLIAM BANKS - sorry! I have been researching/searching for days and there are a lot of names swirling around in my head................... :-S

Re the possibility of David being in Brighton in 2022 -

there were two different men of about the right age named David Banks in Brighton in 2021, only one of whom is still listed on the public ER in 2022 - but both may still be there.

And there are lots elsewhere.

Joan is deceased.
