Unfortunately, even if she was adopted by the Mcdonalds, and kept her first name, Ann McDonald is too common a name for us to be able to identify later records for her without more information. |

my mum is mary rhodes from warwrickshire she was sent away when she was about 16-17yrs (1956) of age she will not tell us why we have narrowed it down to a baby or mental health problems there is no family to ask |

A Mary Rhodes was born in Birmingham in 1939 - but I can't say if she's your mum or not. |

If your mum was sent away, one would assume the birth wasn't registered in Birmingham. |

There is absolutely nothing to suggest that child born in 1956 was adopted - the additional name is due to the mother being recorded under two surnames |

The other thing to remember is that your mum "will not tell us why" she was "sent away" - so it may not have been because of pregnancy. |

As I know where my mum was sent to it is related to mental health or pregnancy and as I knew my mother very well I know I am on the track all your information has helped thank you |
