I am looking for my half sister, she was born Deborah Pickering, her mother's name is Norma Pickering. She was born in New Castle upon Tyne in around 1967.

There's a Newcastle birth in 1972 - but only if Pickering wasn't Norma's maiden
name.

Pickering was her mother
s maiden name. Norma did remarry and I am not sure if her husband adopted Deborah. As I think about it I know she grew up in Newcastle upon Tyne but may actually have been born in Spain

I don't know her re - married name. No, Norma was my dad's wife and my dad is Deborah's father. he died many years ago not leaving much information.

I am not sure she took my dad's last name but that would be Engel

If your father was Deborah's father, and Norma, his wife, was her mother, the birth will have been registered as Engel.

The only reason for it to be in another name would be if your father wasn't the girl's father

BUT.........you wrote

So you need to start looking further afield, perhaps
