will respond to any replies tomorrow and also ask my friend if he can remember anything else.

My friend gave me the name of Graham as they would be related but as this is a large family over the years he has lost touch with relatives and would now like to contact them and this is why he has asked me to research his family tree but as you may realise the facts are sketchy, I have posted a new thread asking about another Hemsworh relation - Michael Bennett (born 1943) son of Edna Bennett .

How did you get the surname Stanley if there's no obvious marriage. How did you get the name Graham?

I'm sure I had it from freebmd, born in Hemsworth - family born in Hemsworth or Pontefract, A younger sister also born in 1968 also in Hemsworth

And he's living in Barnsley!

There is a Graham Parton born right after the marriage in the adjacent district.

well, hopefully some things will come together over the weekend as my friend has got the car fixed and his relative should be back from holiday so they can get together and compare notes and any paperwork that may come to light, He is pleased about the address to contact as he is pretty certain this Graham is the one he was looking for - Margarets son. Thanks to all who helped in the search - pity the rest of the world isn't as friendly and helpful as the Community Boards then we could all say What A Wonderful World. Thanks again x

Have you thought about getting one of the birth certs to see who the father was and to try and follow up on him

I have just spoken to my friend who has said the name of Lou (Lewis) Parton sounded familiar . I have looked for children from marriage between Bennett and Parton and Bostock and Parton but none and as Grahams name is Stanley I agree it looks like the couple did not marry as you have said,
Shirley - when you said Margaret lived in Barnsley until 2009 and you said lived at same address for 26 years was that with Lewis . Not sure if Margaret is still alive as she was born in 1932 and would be 86 now

Already posted that Malyon, and the later marriage that ties with the 1939 register

there is a margaret bennett marriage in 1952 to william e bostock in hemsworth
margaret could have been born in 1932

william could have married again in 1960

Not sure that they have picked up the right death as not seeing one wity the right birthdate
