https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/#wills
You can order copies on the site at a cost of £10.

Unfortunately for us, an entry doesn't give a date of birth, nor a place of death. Estates can be submitted for Probate anywhere in the country, regardless of where they lived or died.

Other than that, try iannounce or google the names to see if you can find a newspaper obituary or death notice.

Deaths after about 2007 aren't online and there are no,plans to have them transcribed I,m afraid

It looks though that laraine is at the address to 2014. And her husband was still at that address in 2016 .

It's possibly that laraine has passed away I,m afraid . Worth sending a letter though.

Please has anyone any suggestions of how to find out about deaths which have happened in the recent past - ie not yet on line.

I don't see Laraine on 192.com - at least not with her husband.

No Laraine B's - but quite a number of Laraine Hughes.

There's a Hughes / McClure birth of a daughter in Salford in 1968.

Also a birth in Clwyd in 1974 - but maybe a different family.

There's a marriage too for Gillian a McClure to Kelly 1967 Manchester

So would seem the family were back in the uk

Thanks. It seems you have the right family. However due to an acrimonious divorce when my contact was just 5 years old all contact with the McClures was minimal and Norbert remarried. The house you mention was occupied by Anthony Kenneth McClure until not so long back but seems to have been sold by the council. We can't find him either.

There's a marriage of a Laraine B McClure in Manchester in 1965 - to a Hughes.
