There are others which are also possible, so would possibly involve spending a small fortune on certs in the hope that NOK was informant, unless some of them can be ruled out.

As I've said in my message , unless I am missing it, the only marriage I can see ( on Ancestry) to a Valerie is that of an Arthur R Thomas.

Not seeing a Jacqueline Thomas birth either? that can't be accounted for by other marriages)

The way we see it now.
To find Arthur if still alive is to trace from electoral roll
and also his daughter Jaqueline who maybe married now
but I think to do this we would have to go to port Talbot (we are in Derbyshire so quite some miles away.

Our best lead yet was the lady we wrote to and then had a phone call from
who now lives at morgans road now who told us they moved to holly road 56 years ago when they sold the house to her. the year his wife Valerie would of died 1961 probley November as said before she was in the hospital in neath dying when my brother Russell was being born 17th nov 1961 the last time my birth mother beryl seen Arthur.

I think maybe his wife may of been Joan v Thomas/ re/ jones must be the one it all sort of fits she must of used her middle name and have gone by that V that's why people know his wife as Valarie maybe ?
where do I go from here then ? :-)

If the 1942 marriage is his, which does sound very likely, Arthur's birth is more likely to be 1922 than the 1927/8 you mention in other post. I think you have to consider that he is likely to be deceased.

The way we see it Arthur must of moved out of his house 56 years ago morgans road in Neath in 1961 and moved to a house in holly road Neath.
And then in 1963 when his wife died moved again at some time and from what we have been told he went on to re- marry
could do with a lead on his daughter Valarie Thomas really.?

It''s a little unlikely that the Valerie who died aged 24 in 1963, is the right one, unless Arthur married someone around 17 years his junior? I thought the idea was to ask for an electoral roll search?

To be sure you will need to buy that cert from the GRO , for details of the informant and marital status of that Valerie.

Did the lady who told you they had moved from Morgans Road, say how old the daughter was?

We think she was about 8 years old when they left morgans road so born around 1953
they all Moved 56 years ago from morgans road Neath to holly road.

14 when she had Jaqueline
do not think the Valerie they have said is the correct one then.! :-(

well if the daughter Jacqueline was about 8 when they moved in 1961 ish , born about 1953, then that can't be her mother's death as it would mean the mother was only 14 when the daughter was born. I think that's very unlikely.
