He married a Miss May Hindley in Heywood.

Yes I am. I believe there was a family argument and as not been heard of for over65 + years

I am sure that they had another son called Donald who I think was born about 1930.

You could order either the DC to see who was listed as the informant, or a copy of her Will from the probate service. That would cost £10 instead of £9.25 for the DC.

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl shows 3 Chapman/Hulme births 1940-1955 in the Stockport reg district. None of them have middle initials which makes it a bit more difficult to trace.
