The Peter that is my cousin his mothers name is Emily C Collins and without checking I presumed that he was born in London

Have you contacted the person who listed a Peter J Collins 1939 in their tree?

No one seems to list his parents, Hilda E Bannell & Henry F G Collins. As he seems to be the only child of the marriage, he may be the informant on their death certficates.
Perhaps not as it would seem that his father remarried sometime later.

There are far too many records for Hilda E Collins to suggest likely deaths or 2nd marriages.

Do put him and his parents on your tree so that others can contact you in the future. For you to receive a message, you must make sure your GR account is always linked to your most current email address even if you allow your GR account to lapse.

Welcome to the boards. Is there a particular reason you are trying to find him?

If his birth was registered in Hendon, there's one in the 3rd quarter 1939 which may fit. Middle initial J?

What other information do you have? Names of his parents to confirn the correct registration? Siblings?
