Ivy was born Sandbach Cheshire in 1924 d/o Thomas Barrow and Alice Hancock, lived in Sandbach and Hanley in Stoke on Trent. Joined the ATS and married in Leeds in 1943 to Donald Pearcy, later lived in and around Kidsgrove Staffordshire and remarried in 1960 to Thomas Spencer Blasé. She left in 1973. I think she dies as Heather Blasé in The Royal Marsden Hospital, Chelsea in 1997. Informant Michael Mac McElvaney. She was a retired college catering manageress and lived Chertsey Court, St Peter's rd, Kingston Upon Thames. I think she still had close family members back in Stoke who remained in touch with her. Her family would dearly love to know about her after she left in 1973. Any advice on how to proceed appreciated |

One thing to do first is to get the birth certificate of your Ivy to check that it matches the date of birth on the death certificate |

thank you... have birth, first marriage certificate and death certificate, all ties together... she left her husband and children and had no contact at all with them after she left, no explanation as to why she left I am building their tree so no help needed in regards to that. She knew Mr Blasé had passed and that her child was married, someone thought they saw her at the wedding, standing at the back of the church. I believe she must have been in touch with a sibling back in Stoke in order to know these things. No idea what relationship the informant was, carer, friend , had different addresses. Have tried looking for him, will try the trees thank you Nel |

no she had no contact with Thomas the children or their side of the family. They had no idea, I had the distressing job of informing one of them last night that she was deceased, they know nothing at all for 42 years |

again just to clarify - when you say 'she left her husband and children', this is Thomas Blasé and her children with him you are referring to? |

the name is not too terribly common ... he may have travelled to New York in 1953 as ship's crew showing 4 years' service |

If the informant wasnt an official and just a friend.neighbour then their address should be on the death certificate. |

sorry researching on behalf of a friend so trying to be discreet. Ok the older child was taken on by Ivy and her first husband Don Pearcy, allegedly the son of her sister. So presumably christened Barrow but I am at a dead end with that too. Informant Michael Mc Elvaney 85 Chertsey Court Lower Richmond road Mortlake. I have no idea re relationship but was present at the death of Ivy. If the above chap is correct then with his age may have been her companion, but if he has passed away not able to enquire. Ivy lived 8 Madingley, St Peters Rd Kingston upon Thames. She was christened Ivy Barrow but adopted Heather between birth and her first wedding, her death certificate shows heather Blasé date of birth correct but she claims to have been born in Liverpool so I discounted it. However on talking Sat evening her career stuck out and there are no other alternatives, cross referenced marriages deaths etc. This is the most likely, need to find a relative of her siblings I am convinced she was in touch with someone back home who kept her up to date with what was happening to her husband Tom and her daughter. I have sorted her daughters birth 2 entries Pearcy and Blasé they married 2 years after her birth. Sorry it's very complicated but many thanks for all your comments. |

The informant would have given the place of birth on her death certificate. That might explain the error. |
