My name is Rebecca Ennion aka Cope & I'm looking for my sister Christine Marie cope who was adopted as a baby. Our mum was called Debbie cope & we've an older sister called Victoria cope. We was all born in Salford. If i remember rightly your birthday is November 1st 1982.
If this is you Christine reading this & you don't know our family details, then maybe this will jog your memory..... When we was between ages 9-11 we met for the first time on a trip to blackpool with Joyce from Hornbeam crt flats in Salford. At that time we didn't know we was sisters, yet we was inseparable all day. Sometime after that we was introduced as sisters. We visited each other for a while at each others houses. You, your adoptive mum & myself once went bowling where we played in the ball pit. My Dad gave you some photos of our mum for your bedroom. For my birthday you gave me a photo album of pics of you growing up & there was some of you & me in there. You & your adoptive parents would visit a lady called Joyce in some flats in Salford & i also lived in the same flats with my Dad & stepmum, coincidentally. We lost touch all of a sudden & I've never known why. Although i can imagine it was because of my Dad. I hope this information jogs your memory.

Can your parents tell you her adoptive name?

Also try tracking down Joyce by looking at old electoral rolls to get her full name.

if you know Joyces old address then you should be able to find her on the old electoral rolls, But you would need to access them through the main library for the area .

I believe they are only searchable by address so as you have that you should be able to find Joyce on them

look in Search Members trees which is under the Search Heading above the boards

there is a Christine Cope born 1982 Salford who is/was a member

Click on her name and send her a message . even if she is no longer a member if her email is still the same she will receive your message and can reply

Edit : the GRO record of her birth has her as Christine NOT Christina so its a good bet that that member is her

I've not found her yet either. I've messaged Christine though so I'm waiting on her replying.

You need to add Victoria's name to your tree. If she come searching she can contact you.

Ah, ok. Can't she contact me until i do that? When i tried to create a tree it let me fill out part of it & not the rest. It kept going off for some reason.

If she was adopted before you were born she might now know you exist.

If she comes looking she will probably start with her parents or grandparents if they are listed in her adoption file. Make sure you have these names in your tree.

Thanks Rose, I'll find our grandparents names out tomorrow and put them on. I've put Christine and Victoria's names up now. Can you please do me a favour if possible? Wow thank you ever so much Rose. I've just looked at the details in the marriage records and she married her spouse with the surname cope. She's also from the correct area, so it's definitely her. Thanks.

Have you searched facebook? There's a Christina Marie Cope and several Christine Cope listed.

Also a 2002 marriage in Cheshire for a Christine M Cope

I've looked on Facebook but the Christina Marie cope on there is from USA. I'll look at the marriage records and I'll try her name with her spouses surname and see if I can find her on Facebook that way.
